How to solve today’s Wordle.
My my how time flies, whether you’re having fun or not. It’s February 18th, which means we only have 10 days left in the month. We have about 30 days until winter ends and spring arrives. Soon it will be summer.
Admittedly, I’m ready for some new seasons. This winter has been planted very winter. I don’t hate the cold by any means, and I’m glad we have so much snow. But I miss getting out in the woods when things are green and warm and going for long walks with my dog. They miss him the most. They have been much more cooped up lately and they have got tons of energy. I wish I had a fraction of their energy!
Still, all this snow will be very good for the forests and should help prevent the worst forest fires. We have been hit by so many wildfires that it has completely changed the area, with whole parts of town suddenly flooded zones. Fires and floods. It’s something you don’t always think about, but when there is one natural disaster there are often more. Fires can lead to floods and famine. Natural disasters can overtake man-made disasters, as competition for resources puts pressure on people.
But let’s not concern ourselves with all that. Let’s do this Wordle – sound good?

Today’s Wordle solution
This was a very hard word—one of a few that have been particularly hard recently (like yesterday). I admit, I had a pretty hard time coming up with a clue. I’m not even sure that was a very good tip, but what else can you really say?
I was lucky today and solved this one fairly quickly. Opals it was a strange guess. I can’t say where it came from. But it narrowed the remaining solutions down to a measly 44. From here, all I could think about was getting the rest of the vowels out of the way. Since ‘O’ was already finished, I went with it adieu exclude the rest. To my surprise—despite already having a lock ‘A’ in box #3—I found another lock ‘A’ in box #1. Huzzah!
At this point, I was pretty sure the ‘I’ had to go in the fourth spot, although I fiddled with it briefly in the second box. When I had ‘AIL’ lined up, it was the only word I could think of take advantage of –and sure enough, that was the Wordle!
This was a very good day for me Wordle-wise, because I got my answer in three guesses (+1 point) and I beat the Wordle Bot, who got his in four (another point). That’s two points, which is better than I’ve had in quite some time. Huzzah again!
