In many ways, mods are a lot like magic. With a few magic words, players can change Legacy of Hogwarts into something completely new, or simply adjust various features to better suit their needs or desires. However, just like magic, not everyone knows how to do this themselves, but thankfully modders are more than happy to share their work with the masses. Whether you’re looking to improve performance, make the game more accessible, or simply have a laugh, here are 10 of the best mods for Legacy of Hogwarts and how to install them.

Best mods for Hogwarts Legacy
Ascendio
Although not the most exciting place to start, we have to start with the performance mods for Legacy of Hogwarts considering how rough the game can run for some PC players. Ascendio is billed as an unofficial fps enhancement that improves performance by applying Unreal Engine parameters to the game. In short, the mod tweaks things like CPU and GPU communication, forces to complete a frame, enables texture streaming to be as optimal as possible, and minimizes frame drops and stutters.
(X6 Rework Options) Hogwarts Legacy Restore Realism Restore Better Textures 2023

Legacy of Hogwarts It’s not a bad looking game on the PC at all, but it’s certainly not pushing the limits of what high-end rigs can pump out. Hogwarts Legacy Legacy Better Textures Restoration Reshadow 2023 mod reshadows the game to improve the color and bloom of the world, as well as make lighting and shadows more distinct, to make the environments much more vivid and visually appealing of.
Mouse gesture to spell
Fans of the books and movies know that saying a spell’s name is only part of how magic works. The rest is all in wand movements, and this Mouse gesture mod helps recreate that experience by mapping your spells to movements rather than buttons. This mod certainly won’t make the game easier but it will make it much more immersive and satisfying to master.
Mouse controls for mod broom
Flying your broom should be one of the most exciting and enjoyable parts of being a witch or wizard. But, at least on PC, the default controls for reeds leave a lot to be desired. Thankfully the Mouse controls for the broom mod allow you to control your flight with the mouse rather than cumbersome keyboard controls. This gives you a much greater level of control over your movements, which is essential for some of the game’s tougher time trials.
Mod Alohomora

Alohomora is the unlock spell, and boy does this mod live up to its name. With the Alohomora mod, just about everything you could want Legacy of Hogwarts unlocked from scratch. This includes all spells, gear, reed upgrades, items, fast travel locations, and more. This mod only works when you start a new game, so you can’t add it to an existing file that’s a bumper, but considering how powerful you’ll be with it, you should be can come back in no time.
Arachnophobia
So many games feature spiders as enemies despite them being one of the most common fears in the world. Giant spiders are even worse and can even cause anxiety when faced in game. If your fear of spiders makes playing this game a challenge, the Arachnophobia mod replaces all those creepy crawies with completely tame (if slightly bland) boxes.
The Elder Wand mod
When we saw that you would be able to customize your rod in Legacy of Hogwarts, many assumed that you would be able to get some of the most iconic rod designs from the franchise. That’s why it was such a let down when the most famous and important stick in the franchise was nowhere to be found. The Elder Wand mod fixes this by giving you the most powerful wand the wizarding world has ever seen (at least apparently. It functions like your normal wand).
Thomasbroom

At this point, we should assume that a Thomas the Tank Engine mod is coming for every game released on PC in some form. In this case, the Thomasbroom mod for Moon Trimmer broom turns itself into the classic blue train to fly around the world. It’s still a bit rough, because Thomas’ model will be quite short, but nothing that breaks the game. Honestly, though, that’s probably not a concern if you’re installing this mod.
Beard

Sure, you’re technically just a teenage witch or wizard when you get to Hogwarts, but that really limits your ability to roleplay as yourself if you’re a little older. This is another rough mod, but if you want your character to have any kind of Facial Hair, this mod is the best you’ll get. In order to work at all, your beard will replace your other facial clothing options, and it won’t move dynamically, but at least it looks good when your character isn’t speaking.
Mod Shrek broom
What do we even need to say here? As the Shrek Broom mod description reads, “Shrek is a broom, Shrek is life.” Now you can replace your Aeromancer brush with a T-posing model of Shrek, and you know what? That’s exactly what people want. Get your Shrek on and fly around in style.
